Sankofa Healing Creative Arts CIC is a culturally competent Integrative therapy and Drama therapy service. We are a compassionate company, offering one to one and group therapy. Our therapy sessions aids self-exploration and discovery (know thy Self). This creative approach provides an aesthetic distance to become self-aware of the obstructive patterns that inhibit healing and growth.
Sankofa HCA has successfully collaboratively with community organisations to deliver group interactive and drama therapy .

Wendy has been an Integrative Therapist for 10 years, As an Integrative therapist I use a solution focused approach method, with theoretical application of Person Centred, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Attachment Theory.
This complimentary approach enables me to work with the clients and their current concerns to find solutions that address patterns of their thoughts, behaviours and emotions that inhibits a person’s healing and growth in life. . Through exploration I energetically walk alongside the client to empower them to gain autonomy, self-expression and value of self.,
Drama therapy is a creative medium that uses theatre, arts, poems and taking therapy. Its main aims are to help the clients to improve their health wellbeing/

Experience
I worked in an African Caribbean counselling service, treating young people and adults experiencing a range of mental health conditions. Working in this cultural diverse community expanded my professional skills and awareness. The organisation offered clients face to face and group therapy, yet within the last 3 years I have incorporated online and telephone therapy. For 5 years I began to mentor trainee counsellors, aiding them to develop their practices and guidance to follow the regulated policies and procedures stipulated by the counselling organisation and university..
Areas of Expertise
Throughout my 10 years of experience I have treated clients experiencing Depression, Anxiety, low mood, low self esteem, Bi polar Disorder and anger. I endeavour to adopt an idiosyncratic approach, incorporating various tools and techniques of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Counselling. I have adopted a creative and interactive way of working with clients to enhance their experience of autonomy, self agency gaining insight into their own processes. This aids them to identify and rectify negative maintenance factors. Within my life, I have been able to observe both the theoretical and experiential impact of mental health, from both professional and personal perspectives. This combined experience has afforded me insight and enhanced these qualities. I now understand and treat mental health from a broader context.

Approaches Offered
My Integrative Therapy is a person centred solution focused approach, which seeks to address clients current concerns with practical solutions enabling them autonomy to make sense of their experience through guided discovery. I facilitate development of new creative skills and methods empowering clients to function more effectively, supporting them to identify issues, and unhelpful patterns, enriching their lives.
