Fariah is a warm and respectful, integrative psychotherapeutic counsellor. She has worked both in the NHS and private agencies, supporting a wide range of people from different backgrounds. Fariah has experience supporting clients struggling with trauma, grief, identity, PTSD, eating disorders, low self esteem, abuse, family issues, cultural and racial issues and more. She also has experience, and welcomes neurodiverse clients.
Fariah aims to provide an inclusive space and valuing the client's individuality is at the heart of her practice. She supports people to live authentically and find empowerment in their choices.
Fariah is a member of the BACP and abides to the BACP ethical framework to a high standard. She has a degree in Integrative Relational Counselling and works with a creative and research-based approach.

Fariah understands that it can take a lot of courage to reach out, and she offers a supportive space to explore what might be troubling clients. She is passionate about helping others and believes in the positive impact that counselling can bring to individuals.
Fariah's therapy style is collaborative, creative and warm. Inclusion is an important aspect of her work and she aims to create and nurture a trusting space for client's to explore, share and find the tools to overcome obstacles, discover potential and personal growth.
Fariah attends many relevant courses, seminars and conferences throughout the year both national and international. She has regular supervision and is fully insured.
Experience
Fariah has experience working in the NHS, agencies and community based settings. She continues to work with clients in private practice in both short term and long term therapy. As an integrative psychotherapeutic counsellor, her research-based approach includes person-centred, psychodynamic, CBT, gestalt and existential theories which she uses to customise and collaborate with client's needs and experiences.
Fariah's previous roles include working with vulnerable children and young people to support them to integrate back into school, work and the community. By using art and creative writing as a tool, they found ways to express their trauma. Fariah believes that our past experiences shape us and, whilst focusing on the present, it is helpful to understand the impact of the past.
Areas of Expertise
Fariah's expertise are in supporting clients to build confidence and self esteem. She also works creatively using colours, sounds and images to build a deeper understanding of the clients internal experience of the world around them. She also works with the body which can bring awareness and insight to how the client feels unconsciously. She supports the client and also offers gentle challenges to help to client see things from a different perspective.
Fariah works collaboratively with the client to create a shared space where to explore and understand the client's life, from their point of view.
